Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and developed a passion to sprint at Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial trial she took the sport, she finished second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed her high school education and was signed to an official contract with Adidas. In 2004, she was enrolled at her first year at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic award at 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s and set an all-time junior world record. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her races.
