Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is an actress and model. Following her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to portray the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began her modeling career after the opportunity was offered by an aspiring photographer. The career she pursued has transformed into commercial modeling. Doody strove to avoid glamour and nude roles, which was a principle she followed in her acting. When she was dragged into the sights to the director of casting for an upcoming James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of the twelve most promising actors of the year in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody was only 18 when she made her appearance in the Bond part. As of today Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. Another film from her early days was a small part in the role of IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody was unspoken in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias when she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version of The Secret Garden. Her first lead role was in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She first appeared in the movie Taffin with Pierce Brosnan. Next, she played Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian Nazi-sympathizer and archaeologist opposite Harrison Ford. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors in the role of James Bond. Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series that was inspired by Hitler Diaries. When she moved to Hollywood Doody was famous. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson character. She then played Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent, opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II came out in 1994. After a long absence from the screen Doody came back to acting, by playing a minor role in the 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an awards ceremony scene. In 2004, she starred in a film with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 booklet on the Holocaust. in 2010 Doody shot a part of Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Doody was later a guest on the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to star in a 2011 remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Her first two seasons of The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she appeared on We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The Almeria tierra de film award was presented to her on the 21st of November in 2018. In addition, she was awarded a star at the Almeria Walk of Fame.
