Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. The father of the child, Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was aware that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished in second place in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed an official contract with Adidas. In 2004, she enrolled in her first year at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she won her title by beating Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 throughout her events in the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
